I love whales and have had the opportunity to see humpback and orca whales in New Zealand. This sperm whale has been sculptured out of porcelain to give it a lovely smooth, flowing body. The glaze was carefully chosen and applied to give the appearance of water on the form.
My husband was a member of 'Project Jonah' in New Zealand - a volunteer group set up to help and protect marine mammals, he was kept quite busy with assisting with whale strandings. 5% of the cost of this sculpture will go towards Sea Shepherd Conservation Society - who work at the front line of whale and other marine protection.
